Triple Star Ranch is 320 acres of predominately wild mesquite pasture located in Schleicher County, 25 miles from Sonora Texas. We maintain a herd of approximately 100 Dall sheep which delivers 6-10 rams in the 30”- 35” range and a few over 36” each year.
This is a walking hunt so you need to be in shape to walk at least a mile. We usually find our Rams hanging out in bachelor groups in the pastures. You will have multiple opportunities to observe and set up on trophy rams.
Dall sheep are tougher than Whitetail deer so you will need a minimum caliber of .243 with .30 and magnum calibers preferred. Pistol hunters need a minimum .357 Magnum with .44 Magnum or S&W 500 preferred. Black Powder hunters need .50 – .58 caliber rifles. Bowhunters need 65 lb pull bows.
